My Day at CVP
When I arrive at pre-school we walk across the school playground and through the gate. Milly or another grown-up is there to greet me and Mummy/Daddy. All the grown-ups say a friendly "Hello" to me. We say "Hello" to my keyperson and she and Mummy chat. Then I wave goodbye to Mummy and settle down playing with toys and being with my friends and the grown-ups.
At 9.30am we have the option to play in the garden or explore inside.
I can play inside or outside throughout the day. My key-person or another adult will be near me to chat and play with me and to help me if I need it. My Key-person will do activities with me to further my learning. I may also take part in small group activities, turn taking games, emotion or communication groups or sounds activities. Around 10.00 -10.30am it is snack time and we sit at one table with a grown-up. We can drink milk or water and choose healthy food to eat. After snack I carry on playing.
At 11.20am we tidy away our toys. At 11.30am we do group time when we sit and do our name cards, sing songs, talk, listen to a story. At 11.45am it is lunch time and I can choose where to sit. Some children go home or arrive at 11.45am or at 12.15pm.
After lunch we look at story books and then go in to the garden. We have afternoon activities and always play 'what's in my box!'
At 1.30pm we gather together for Letters & Sounds work. At the end, we have a drink and a little snack. At 2.30pm we tidy up the room and garden. Then we might dance, listen to a story or have a quiet rest.
Then it is time to go home and take paintings, drawings, baking or a model I have made. I can borrow library books and I can ask if I want to borrow a toy.
I say "Goodbye" and off I go to my home.
The grownups say "Goodbye" and "Thank you for playing today at CVP"
Unfortunately not the ones with chocolate chips.
